ABOUT

Girls/Boys on Film is a contemporary photography zine, showcasing portraits taken with film cameras.

Girls/Boys on Film started in February 2011. Back then, founder and photographer Igor Termenon was studying his Master Degree in Liverpool and didn't have much time to take photos. In order to go on being involved with photography, he decided to create Girls/Boys on Film.

It started as an online zine and later became a print publication. Currently, every issue is available online and also in paper format at the shop.

Since its start in 2011, the zine has grown and has featured some of the most promising, emerging artists in the contemporary photography scene. The zines currently have an average of 12,000 monthly readers and have been featured in leading websites and publications such as Dazed & Confused, Urban Outfitters and Elle Girl Korea.

Dazed & Confused

"Titled simply ‘Girls on Film’ and ‘Boys on Film’ the names may not require much imagination but the zines themselves – curative projects featuring select photographer’s works – transport you from one place to the next with each turn of the page."

It's Nice That

"Simple but beautiful things are sometimes the best things in life so when the Girls on Film zine came through our door – doing pretty much exactly what it says on the tin, a little zine packed with a beautiful array of portraits of girls taken with film cameras – we instantly loved it."
